From the ever popular photoshoot backdrops to the cosplay parade that attendees can participate in, we are aiming for an upgraded cosplay area.

About Cosplay Registration

To participate in cosplay, "Cosplay Registration" is required aside from AnimeJapan admission ticket.

Early Morning Changing Room

This year, AnimeJapan will once again open the early morning changing room.
Let's get changed a bit early before the event and enjoy cosplay!

Early morning luggage storage service will be available for the morning changing room users.

Once again we are preparing the popular official backdrops. This year you will be able to enjoy the official rock version as well!

AnimeJapan Cosplay Parade

Popular program of the last year, Cosplay Parade has leveled up?!
Cosplayers will walk around the venue for a Cosplay Parade!

Timeline:

The "Let's Make Props with Cosplayers Project ", one that was suddenly decided in AnimeJapan 2018, is coming back!

This time, from the theme of AnimeJapan 2019 "ROCK", Mr. Yamasaka from animate Ltd. has pictured "ROCK >>> Destroy >>> Weapon". So, he's going to craft a weapon!

Mr. Yamasaka, however, was suffering to decide what kind of weapon to make, Y-san from Cosplay Subcommittee gave him a hand...

Now, with the previously learned knowledge, is animate Yamasaka-san able to create a weapon safe and sound?
Also, is he able to show his work to audience during AnimeJapan 2019?

Precautions

Please follow the regulations below in order to prevent the disturbance of other attendees.
Organizers are not responsible for any accidents and trouble. Public disturbance and dangerous acts are prohibited.
If you do not follow the rules and instructions of the staff, you may be ask to leave and registration fee will not be returned.

[About cosplay and admission]

  • In order to cosplay, an “AnimeJapan admission ticket” and Cosplay Registration Fee (1,000 / day) are required.
    *Cosplay Registration will be taken at the Cosplay Reception (in front of the changing room).
    *It is possible to use the changing room multiple times, as long as it is on the same day of your admission.
    *If you lost your Cosplay Entry Badge, you are required to purchase one again. It is not possible to reissue the same lost badge.
  • Leaving and entering the venue or returning home in costume is prohibited.
  • You must change from cosplay to regular clothes when leaving Tokyo Big Sight.
  • Distributing leaflets or any other promotional materials without the permission of the organizer is strictly forbidden.

[About the Early Morning Changing Room and Early Morning Luggage Storage Service]

  • The cosplay changing room and luggage service will be available for use before the opening of AnimeJapan.
  • The room is available from 7:00 – 9:00 (Complete withdrawal by 9:00).
  • After using the early morning changing room and luggage service, you must continue to general admission gate.

[About Changing]

  • Please use the changing room located in the venue. Cosplay Registration (charged) is required for the service.
    *Changing and makeup in the venue’s restrooms or neighboring buildings is prohibited.
  • The changing room is available from 10:00 – 17:00 (Last admission is 16:30).
    *No personal belongings can be left in the changing room. Please use the luggage storage service.
    *Photography is prohibited in the changing room, regardless of device. All camera lenses must also be covered with caps.
    *No volatile / strong-smelling items such as hair spray and nail polish are allowed in the changing room.

[About Personal Belongings]

  • Luggage storage will be provided. Cosplay Registration (charged) is required to use the service.
    *It is possible to deposit and withdraw your luggage multiple times, as long as it is on the same day of your admission.
    *There is a limit to the luggage storage space. We may be unable to take your personal belongings.
  • The service is available from 10:00 – 16:30.
  • We will not be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items. Please keep all of your valuables with you.
  • Luggage storage service is for cosplay participants only.

[About Prohibited Items]

  • All props must not violate the Swords and Firearms Control Law.
  • All weapons must be concealed while moving to prevent disturbing other attendees.
  • Long or large items must be disassembled while moving to prevent disturbing other attendees.
  • Extremely sharp items and loaded toy-guns are prohibited.
  • Items that could cause damage or soil the venue and other attendees are prohibited inside the venue.
  • No flammable items are allowed inside the venue.
  • Actions such as swinging or throwing weapons, baseball bats, rackets, or other tools are prohibited.
  • No items that could break and scatter such as glass products or potteries are allowed.
  • No items that could violate the Penal Code Article 175 / Child Pornography Act are allowed.
  • Any items that are assumed dangerous or disturbing by staff may be confiscated during the convention.

[About Costumes]

  • Costumes that expose your body, or may disturb other attendees are not allowed.
    If seen, you may be asked to leave or stop photography. Registration fee will not be returned.
  • Uniforms currently used by public authorities, such as police, fire department, and Japan Self Defense Force are not allowed.
  • Items that restrict your vision (mask/eye patch/etc) or movement (large paper-mache/character suit/oversized sleeves/large decorations/etc) are not allowed to wear outside of the Cosplay Area.
  • Staff may decline your costumes if judged inappropriate.

[About Cosplay Parade]

  • If you are wearing a kigurumi, mask, or anything that limits your vision please bring someone to assist you.
    Organizers will not provide assisting staff.
  • Please follow the instructions of the Parade staff.
  • Please put all large luggage in the luggage storage service. Do not carry them during the parade.
  • Please carry all of your valuables with you.

[About Photo Shooting]

  • Photo sessions must be carried out only in the designated areas (indoor/outdoor Cosplay Area).
    Cosplay photos are not allowed outside of the permitted areas.
  • Please be sure to ask for permission when taking a photo of cosplayers.
  • Please refrain from taking photos that cause disturbance to other attendees and/or inappropriate posing.
    Please do not force the cosplayers to take certain poses.
  • Items such as large size strobe lights, stands, or flashlights are prohibited.
  • Commercial usage of the photos taken in the venue is prohibited.
  • In case of bad weather and overcrowding of the indoor cosplay area the usage of tripods and photo equipment might be regulated. Thank you for your understanding.
  • A person discovered as taking pictures without the permission of the cosplayer or taking pictures from angles not permitted by the cosplayer will be asked to leave immediately. The entry fee will not be refunded.

[About press coverage]

  • Press members will be at the venue. If they ask you for coverage, please make sure to confirm their “PRESS Badge” and act based on your own responsibility.
    Also, for recording and promotional purposes, there may be photography by the organizers, which may include your picture. We appreciate your understanding.
