Cosplayer’s World

Cosplay Parade a huge success, some program related to ROCK

This year it was held in the indoor cosplay area (East Hall 8) and outdoor area (outside of East Hall 3, and other). Official Backdrops, a situation setting unique to AnimeJapan, had a ROCK-themed edition placed in the venue. It was organized with white and black mono tone, which especially goes well with stylish cosplays.
The "Let's Make Props with Cosplayers Project" belted out a creative inspiration of “ROCK > Destroy > Weapon”, producing “Rem’s morningstar” from “Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-” and Joker’s knife from “PERSONA 5 the Animation”.
Cosplay Parade, a new program starting previous year, has powered up even further. From 2019 latest anime to the classical famous series, cosplayers were dressed up in various anime characters and walked across the venue. Many attendees were seen taking pictures of them.

Official Goods

Enjoying AJ with ROCK items

Featuring ROCK-themed unique goods, AJ “PICK” Gacha were shaped in guitar picks, which is unusual for anime goods. Out of all 31 lineups, some utilized the original “AnimeJapan 2019 ROCK key visual” illustration. It was especially popular as a memorial gift for attendance.
There were 4 lineups for AJ “ROCK” hoodies, printing C.C. from “CODEGEASS Lelouch of the Re;surrection”, Megumin from “God's blessing on this wonderful world! Legend of Crimson”, Ryoma Echizen from “The Prince of Tennis II”, and Kirito from “Sword Art Online -Alicization-” in the back. They all appeared stylish in design on the back of the black hoodies.
There were 19 total designs for “Ticket Holder”. In the venue, many attendees were wearing the attached neck strap to carry the tickets.

Production Works Gallery

Featuring how the sound of “Gundam Narrative” was created

“Production Works Gallery”, a program that deciphers anime production methods. This year, sound production was introduced under the title “Sound in Anime - Making the sounds of "Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative".
A theme song that tells the concept of the world to the audience, soundtracks that creates excitement to the scene, sound effects in the world, voice recording that gives life to characters, and dubbing process that aligns every sound in the anime. Each of these processes were thoroughly decoded.
Scripts and staff interviews were shown in the display panels. The audio guide is voiced by Junya Enoki, starring Jona Basta, who explained sound making process as well as behind the scenes of recording. In the theater room, several famous scenes were aired through 4 different patterns; without sound, with only dialogues, with dialogues and sound effects, and complete edition. It created a rare opportunity to learn how the sound can change the entire impression.
